    Primoris Willbros Canada is looking for a Mechanical Foreman to lead a small team (7-8 employees) for a bi-weekly shutdown.

     

    Job Details:

    Start Date: Oct 31 2018

    Location: Slave Lake

    LOA : Provided

    Duration 1 day shutdown every other week.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Follows all Safety protocol
    • Ability to calculate lay-out and draw; balance and align equipment
    • Perform Maintenance on: lubricating systems, agitators/mixers, blowers, compressors, fans, pumps, conveyors, feeders, elevators, bearings, seals, gearboxes, dissolvers, filters, collectors, screens  and other heavy equipment
    • Perform rigging activities, safety-related functions and other miscellaneous maintenance funtions
    • Demonstrate safe and proficient use of shop tools (both hand and power)
    • Ability to utilize or fabricate parts needed from cold rolled steel, stainless steel, steel plate, structural steel members, other metals, plastics, fittings, valves and all types of mechanical parts
    • Ability to use of oxyacetylene torch work and welding
    • Must demonstrate ability to safely utilize a forklift and high lift
    • Laser alignment and vibration monitoring knowledge if required
    • Physically capable of performing heavy mechanical work
    • Knowledge of predictive/preventive maintenance and pipefitting
    • Perform installation and maintenance work as part of a team of skilled trades workers
    • Self-starter, able to receive orders as directed
    • Other duties as assigned

    • KNOWING, UNDERSTANDING, COMMUNICATING AND ENSURING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OHSA AND COMPANY SAFETY POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
    • FACILITATE MANDATORY SAFETY TOOL BOX MEETINGS

     

    • ENSURING COMPLETION OF INITIAL SAFETY AND HAZARD ASSESSMENTS
    • PARTICIPATING IN SAFETY / INCIDENT INVESTIGATIONS
    • ENSURING THAT VEHICLE AND EQUIPMENT CHECKS ARE CARRIED OUT

     LEADERSHIP AND SUPERVISION

    THE FOREMAN COORDINATES THE CREW AND MUST UNDERSTAND AND CONSTANTLY APPLY THE SITE SUPERINTENDENTS POLICIES. THE FOREMAN IS REQUIRED TO BE INVOLVED AND SUPPORTIVE OF ANY DAY TO DAY DISCIPLINARY DECISIONS.

    • ASSIGNING NEW TASKS
    • RECOGNIZING, ADDRESSING AND RESOLVING ISSUES / PROBLEMS AMONG / BETWEEN CREW MEMBERS
    • MAINTAINING WORK STANDARDS AND OUTLINING BEHAVIOURAL EXPECTATIONS TO ENSURE CREW MORALE AND PRODUCTIVITY
    • APPLYING THE PRINCIPLES OF WORKPLACE RESPECT ON SITE
    • ENSURING CREW COMPLIANCE WITH PROJECT POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
    • ENSURING CREW COMPLIANCE WITH COMPANY POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

     PLANNING AND SCHEDULING

    THE FOREMAN IS ACCOUNTABLE FOR THE FOLLOWING PROJECT PLANS AND SCHEDULES AND ENSURING THAT CREWS UNDER HIS / HER DIRECTION PERFORM DAILY AND WEEKLY ACTIVITIES TO MEET PRODUCTION GOALS.

     

    THIS INCLUDES:

    • TRANSLATING GENERAL WORK REQUIREMENTS INTO A PRIORITIZED WORKPLAN FOR THE CREW
    • WORKING WITH THE CREW TO OVERCOME WORK CHALLENGES
    • PERIODICALLY REASSESS DAILY GOALS TO MEET FORECASTED PRODUCTION

     

    EMPLOYEE RELATIONS

    THE FOREMAN MUST CHAMPION AN INCLUSIVE EMPLOYEE RELATIONS CULTURE, IS ACCOUNTABLE FOR THE ADHERENCE TO POLICIES AND PROCEDURES BY THE CREW TO ENSURE A RESPECTFUL AND INCLUSIVE WORK ENVIRONMENT.

     

    THIS INCLUDE:

    • RECOGNIZING, ADDRESSING AND RESOLVING ISSUES / PROBLEMS AMONG / BETWEEN CREW MWMBERS
    • PROMOTING, SUPPORTING AND FACILITATING TEAMWORK AND HARMONY BETWEEN ALL CREW MWMBERS BY PROMOTING AND FOSTERING A POSITIVE, VISIBLE TEAMWORK ATTITUDE AMONG ALL CREW MEMBERS

     

    QUALITY CONTROL

    THE FOREMAN IS ACCOUNTABLE FOR ENSURING THAT THE COMPLETED WORK MEETS QUALITY STANDARDS.

     

    THIS INCLUDES:

    • ON-SITE ASSESSMENT PRIOR TO COMMENCING WORK TO ENSURE THAT THE JOB IS READY AND ADDRESSING ANY CONCERNS
    • OVERSEEING THE EXECUTION OF THE WORK, INCLUDING QUALITY AND PRODUCTION, ENSURING THAT THE CREW WORKS TO JOB SPECIFICATIONS AND FOLLOW THE PLANS
    • INSPECTING AND MEASURING COMPLETED WORK

     

    ADMINISTRATION

    THE FOREMAN IS ACCOUNTABLE FOR THE PREPARATION OF REPORTS AS REQUIRED BY THE EMPLOYER.

     

    THIS INCLUDES:

    • MAINTAINING SITE FOREMAN’S LOG & SITE REPORTS
    • PREPARATION OF DAILY PRODUCTION RECORDS
    • REPORTING ON WORK PROGRESS
    • COMPLETING MTO QUALITY REPORTS
    • DAILY TIMEKEEPING & REPORTING
    • WORKER VIOLATION REPORTS
    • RECOMMENDING PERSONAL ACTIONS SUCH AS HIRING, RELEASING, PROMOTIONS AND DISCIPLINE

     

    IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE FOREMAN TO CEASE ALL WORK WHEN THE CONTRACT QUANTITY HAS BEEN REACHED AND AWAIT WRITTEN AUTHORIZATION FOR ANY WORK OUTSIDE OF OR BEYOND THE ORIGINAL CONTRACT.
