  • Overview

    Provides project management /contractual/financial support and coordination to multiple, complex technical projects. Responsible for leading teams in cost forecasting and control and scheduling techniques.


    Shift: 5-2 (5 – 8s)

    Duration : Long Term

    Travel/Camp: None ( local only)


    ** Position is local to Edmonton with visits to project sites as required**


    • Lead budget development, progress measurement, cost forecasting and preparing monthly internal and client cost reports on various projects.
    • Apply advanced cost estimating methodologies for each cost element / WBS, and estimate the man hours, material costs, and other project costs.
    • Reconcile actual costs against project forecast and budget.
    • Prepare and maintain project schedule using Primavera
    • Interface, as needed with client representatives to provide project updates including cost, schedule, and change management.
    • Prepare and lead others in completing weekly and monthly progress reports.
    • Prepare and lead others in completing project cost reports including budgets, actuals and forecast of remaining costs.
    • Responsible for maintaining and overseeing the change management process.
    • Prepare various reports for project management to support with cost control, trending, and productivity analysis.
    • Prepare internal cost reports for management on a monthly basis.
    • Other duties as assigned.




    • Bachelor’s Degree in, Construction Management, Engineering, or Accounting/ Finance or related fields is preferred.






    • 10 + years progressive responsibility in project controls, construction management or related function.
    • 5 or more years’ experience working within the engineering and construction services industry.
    • Trained in Primavera P6 to develop and maintain project schedules

    • Advanced knowledge of project management principles.
    • Strong technical and analytical skills.
    • Proficiency in use of MS Office products
    • Proficiency in accounting and reporting software systems.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
    • Recognized for having specialized depth or breadth of expertise within area of focus.
    • Ability to interpret internal and external business challenges with impact on organization and recommend best practice solutions.
    • Contributes to implementation plan development and program coordination.
    • Well organized & detail oriented.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to teach others what they know and to transfer subject matter knowledge and understanding to other employees and/or internal customers regarding why work is performed the way it is and how it impacts the broader organization.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
    • Advocate of team concept.
    • Ability to effectively lead work teams, as assigned.
    • Able to interact with all levels of management
